Columbus, OH (December, 2009) –With more than 40 years of experience, SBC Advertising has a vast wealth of knowledge and expertise in marketing and advertising. However, the industry has gone through such monumental shifts in the past several years that the agency decided to send its staff back to school ? at SBC.
"In an industry that is continually evolving, constant training is important to keep current,? said Katie Dickens, SBC account supervisor. "It is rare for such training programs to take place at your actual workplace. However, that is exactly what SBC did, so that no matter what department an employee works in, new marketing skills could be developed while core skills could be refined."
SBC initiated the University of Digital Marketing series with the goal of ensuring that every employee has the same knowledge and point-of-view on utilizing digital marketing. The 24-part series, presented by in-house experts, company partners and through Webinars, covers topics related to digital space including social media, virtual events and online games and sweepstakes. Each session is held at SBC, enabling the entire company to be exposed to these evolving marketing strategies. In addition, SBC is offering these University of Digital Marketing sessions as a consulting service to clients that want more digitally aware associates.
Despite the fact that much of marketing is transitioning to the Digital Age, the leadership at SBC believes that face-to-face communication will always be crucial. Therefore, SBC also hosted a Buckley School of Public Speaking workshop in which 12 employees experienced two-and-a-half days of public speaking training. Through this internationally acclaimed program led by top coaching faculty, SBC employees perfected their public speaking skills by learning how to effectively win over an audience.
"It has been said that a company's most important resource goes down the elevator every night, which is true for us even though we don't have an elevator," said Matt Wilson, executive vice president/general manager for SBC Advertising. "We invest time, money and personal energy enhancing our employees' ability to improve their professional acumen and thus our clients' ability to win in the marketplace."
SBC Advertising drives business for retail-driven clients in every category of commerce. We are media agnostic, not beholden to any traditional or emergent forms but instead artfully integrate all communication channels to effectively move people with our powerful, undeniable call to action. We call Columbus, Ohio, home, but we are currently making a difference to clients and consumers across North America. What can we do for you?
