Channellock Inc. Announces SBC Advertising as Agency of Record

Meadville, PA (January 31, 2008) – Channellock Inc., the leader in the design and manufacture of high-quality pliers and hand tools, announced today that it has selected SBC Advertising as its new agency of record. The account includes advertising, public relations and interactive services.

"We chose SBC because of the agency's proven expertise in the building products and home center channels," said Scott Jonap, vice president of sales and marketing for Channellock. "SBC provides the integrated, strategic approach that Channellock sought. Further, they developed an excellent strategy to invigorate our brand and reinforce the relevance of an American manufacturing legacy," he added.

This month, SBC and Channellock launched the "Work Hard. Sweat Blue." campaign. Designed by SBC to reflect Channellock's commitment to American craftsmanship and quality for the knowledgeable consumer and tradesperson, the graphics and photography reflect Channellock's uncompromising approach to manufacturing the finest hand tools. Creative materials leverage the company's brand equities including forged, high-carbon steel hand tools for strength and durability, a dedication to the serious hand tool user and the signature CHANNELLOCK BLUE® color. Print ads will appear in newspaper, consumer and trade publications throughout 2006. National radio spots on Westwood One and ESPN Radio will also air.

Public relations will support the company's recently launched Code Blue product line, additional new product introductions and Channellock's recently announced entry into professional bass fishing competition with its sponsorship of B.A.S.S. Elite Series Rookie-of-the-Year contender, Paul Hirosky. Strategic counsel, trade show support and media relations will continue to strengthen Channellock's position as the category leader in quality hand tools.

SBC will also design enhancements for Channellock's web site, www.channellock.com. Current plans include a visual redesign for a more consumer- and media-friendly site, as well as improved e-commerce capabilities.

"SBC is privileged to add another category leader to our client list, especially one with a great American success story. Channellock poses a unique category marketing opportunity because they have remained firm in their commitment to product quality and domestic manufacturing," said David Dennis, president of SBC Advertising. "However, our primary goal will remain the same as it has for all our clients - to create a positive business impact," he added.
