SBC Takes Home Another Gold

Columbus, OH (February 2004) – SBC Advertising took home the Gold at the 52nd annual Retail Advertising Conference awards competition.

The 2004 Gold RAC award honored SBC's superior achievement in mass merchandisers' advertising, a category filled with formidable competitors the likes of Target, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, and Meijer Stores. The "Furniture Ads" newspaper campaign for Big Lots won the votes of judges because of its "clever, creative copy" and "great headlines".

This marked the second consecutive Gold RAC award victory year for SBC, its first in 2003 when the agency won Golds for its newest Big Lots television campaign and "Shopping Genes" spot.

"Two 'Gold' years in a row - it's exciting," said David Dennis, president of SBC Advertising. "Our agency is made up of some of the most talented people in the world. The fact that we're competing with and triumphing over the biggest retailer campaigns in the business is a tribute to the strength of our people."

Among the most revered awards in retail, the annual RAC Awards, sponsored by the Retail Advertising & Marketing Association, honors exceptional strategic and creative accomplishments in retail advertising and marketing.
